Anastasia worked for the “Novaya Gazeta”, an independent newspaper. She covered many social topics in Moscow, among other – ecological protests, anti-capitalist demonstrations, neo-nazi violence.

Apart from her journalism work, Anastasia participated in social actions together with her anarchist comrades. She participated in a Food-not-Bombs group, cooking and distributing food among homeless people. Nastya was once detained after showing solidarity with tenants of a refugee dormitory, corrupted officials wanted to evict them. She visited the European Social Forum in Malmo(Sweden) in 2008.

Nastya was together with Stanislav Markelov on the way from a press-conference in Moscow.

After the killer shot Markelov, Nastya tried to stop him, and was shot in head. She died the same day in a hospital.
