📌 It’s been 5 years since people in Belarus rose up against the dictatorship of Lukashenko and for months tried to get rid of the authoritarian regime through peaceful demonstrations, direct actions, strikes and acts of sabotage. The world has changed radically since that uprising with the situation in Belarus becoming even more precarious since russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
At this commemoration, we are going to look into the past, talk about the reality of resistance against the russian empire and what were the chances of success for people in Belarus in 2020 knowing all the plans of Putin at this point of history.
The presentation expects you to have basic knowledge of political situation in Belarus/Russia/Ukraine.
